It is situated at the bottom of Holywell Hill and St Stephens Hill, opposite St Albans Abbey station and close to the Sainsburys supermarket.

The centre has two swimming pools and a water confidence area, the two swimming pools offer a flexible approach to swimming with moveable floors in each pool.

The Club sessions are every Saturday between 4.00 pm and 5.30 pm.

The adjacent Car Park has 354 spaces of which 29 are allocated Disabled spaces. It is open 24 hours a day seven days a week.

As well as the swimming facilities, the centre also has a 4 court sports hall, a 200 station gym and a separate youth gym, two group exercise studios, a group cycling studio, an indoor climbing wall, children’s soft play area, café and crèche. The gym, which includes some apparatus suitable for disabled customers, is one of the largest in the area and offers views over the nearby park. The group exercise programme is vast and varied to suit all levels. In addition Westminster Lodge leisure centre is also home to the Verulamium Spa which includes treatment rooms, hydrospa pool, sauna, steam room, relaxation area and a café.
